Equipment Engineer

Responsibilities of the Equipment Engineer
Project management of network growth and system integrations to include the identification of critical paths, milestones, and contingency plans
Work closely with all groups within the Network team including RF Design, Real Estate, Construction, Operations, Facilities, System Performance and the Area Planning team
Manage vendors to meet targeted network milestones and turn-up dates.
Provide input for budget and overall planning
Work within the financial constraints of allocated budget
Project management of new technologies/services in the region related to cell site engineering and operations.
Attend frequent project update meetings to present current status of pending and ongoing projects.
Adopt current methods/procedures for equipment tracking and inventory control
Consistently work to improve processes that assist in communication and coordination with other network teams
Must integrate well as member of the Verizon Wireless network team; co-workers, vendors, and customers

Qualifications of the Equipment Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related career field. Master's degree a plus.
Demonstrated large-scale project management experience with 3+ years process/program management experience
Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required
Demonstrates effective time management skills, ability to work independently and make decisions within the guidelines of company business standards
Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible
Proven ability to manage heavy workload, be detailed oriented and meet deadlines
Commitment to quality and the motivation and ability to work well in a team environment required
PC applications (specifically Microsoft Project, Windows, and Microsoft Office)
Knowledge of cellular network architecture
Knowledge of Ericsson/Nortel CDMA, EV-DO and LTE equipment a plus
Knowledge of CAD a plus
Knowledge of Alcatel Lucent a plus
Knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus
Knowledge of CATS/FULCRUM a plus
Knowledge of MapInfo a plus
Valid driver's license is required
Occasional night work may be required
