Responsibilities of the APM Engineer
Responsible for triaging and isolating points of failures of issues identified by customers related to mobile app and website performance.
Ensures the availability of web/app services; evaluates, analyzes, and monitors the app and supporting infrastructure to determine problem areas and/or areas of concern. Monitors, isolates, triages, and resolves outages and impairments
Lead performance and stress testing activities to test site reliability and scalability analyze areas of improvement in both application and infrastructure layers
Conduct performance evaluations of new technology upgrades and critical software/ hardware changes and design and prepare performance/stress/redundancy test plans and scripts
Analyze the current state of the application and infrastructure, defining appropriate enhancements and working with development teams to implement them
Coordinate and participate in incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, identify and work with development teams to implement solutions to prevent re-occurrences
Collaborate with QA engineers, lead developers and solution architects and take initiative to advance the quality, performance and scalability of our applications by influencing the architecture and design of our products with ‘operability’ in mind
Review each entire application stack and design, prepare and execute performance test plans to identify performance and scalability issues
Design and participate in the development and delivery of operability-related features such as system health monitoring, diagnostics and repair automation. Skills

Qualifications of the APM Engineer
At least 4+ years’ experience in similar role
Experience with CRM systems for mobile sales, activation, and provisioning
Strong trouble-shooting and analysis skills and problem-solving ability
Experience with testing of mobile apps
Understanding of both relational databases and noSql database principles
Good scripting skills in one or more of Python, Ruby, Go, C++ or Java/Scala
Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-oriented production environment
Demonstrable expertise around specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environments
Automation or monitoring framework experience
Knowledge of combination of these: Linux internals, filesystems, web architecture, and related topics
Experience with Application Performance Management (APM) is a big plus Education: B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
